Field Trip Itinerary

DAY 1Sunday, October 4, 2026

Meet at Thessaloniki’s “Macedonia” Airport. Flight to Tel Aviv at 7:00 a.m. Arrival at Ben Gurion Airport at 9:10 a.m. Passport control and baggage claim. Departure for Lydda to venerate the tomb of St. George.

We will then proceed to the Old City of Jerusalem. Pilgrimage to the Holy Sepulchre, Golgotha, and the Descent from the Cross. Guided tour of the chapels of the Church. We will take the Way of the Cross. Pilgrimage to the Praetorium and the temporary prison of Christ. Pilgrimage to the house of Joachim and Anne and the house where the Virgin Mary was born.

We continue to Gethsemane and the Tomb of the Virgin Mary, the Garden of Betrayal, and the Church of All Nations. We will proceed to the Mount of Olives and the actual site of the Ascension. Return to the hotel, check-in, and dinner. Overnight stay.

DAY 2Monday, October 5, 2026

Wake-up call and breakfast at the hotel. Pilgrimage to the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. We will visit the cave where Christ was born and the manger. Pilgrimage to the Monastery of the Shepherds and the Shepherds’ Cave. Pilgrimage to the Monastery of Saint Savvas, with its special baths, the only sanctuary off-limits to women. We continue to the Holy Monastery of Saint Theodosius and will see the cave of the Magi. Return to the hotel and dinner. Overnight stay.

DAY 3Tuesday, October 6, 2026

Wake up and breakfast at the hotel. Departure for the Monastery of Martha and Mary in Bethany and the Tomb of Lazarus. Next, we’ll visit the Monastery of Hozeba. We’ll then head to the Jordan River, on the border with Jordan, for a symbolic baptism at the site where Christ was baptized. Departure for the Jericho area and Mount Sarantario or the Mount of Temptation. Stop and visit at the Monastery of Saint Gerasimos, where we will have time for coffee and a rest. Return to the hotel, dinner. Overnight stay.

DAY 4Wednesday, October 7, 2026

Wake-up and breakfast at the hotel. We will arrive at Mount Tabor, where we will take a taxi up to pay our respects at the site of the Transfiguration. We continue to Nazareth, to the site of the Annunciation, and to Cana, where the first miracle took place. We continue to Capernaum on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. Return to the hotel, dinner. Overnight stay.

DAY 5Thursday, October 8, 2026

Wake-up call and breakfast at the hotel. We will visit the Monastery of the Cross, where Lot planted the tree that became the Holy Wood. We continue to Oreini, the site of Elizabeth’s encounter with the Virgin Mary and the home of John the Baptist. Finally, we visit the Monastery of Kata Monas and the tomb of Saint Symeon.

We will travel to the city of Jerusalem and venerate the tomb of Saint Melania at the Monastery of the Great Virgin Mary. We continue to the Monastery of Saint Annaya and the Metochi of Gethsemane. Free time for a pilgrimage to the Holy Sepulcher and shopping. We depart for the airport. Flight to Thessaloniki at 11:15 p.m. Arrival at 1:40 a.m.
