We’ll meet at “Macedonia” Airport early in the morning and depart on a direct flight to Helsinki. Upon our arrival in the Finnish capital, we’ll begin our tour of this jewel of a city. We will admire St. Nicholas Cathedral on the imposing Senate Square, the Uspenski Orthodox Cathedral, the National Museum, the Central Station, and Sibelius Park. Our tour will continue with the Olympic Stadium and, of course, the unique Rock Church (Temppeliaukio). After the tour ends, transfer to the hotel. Free time to visit the Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art or the legendary Stockmann department store. Overnight stay.
After breakfast, we depart for picturesque Porvoo, Finland’s second-oldest city, with its characteristic colorful wooden houses and cobblestone alleys. We will visit the historic City Hall and the 14th-century Cathedral. We then board a state-of-the-art cruise ship bound for Stockholm. We’ll settle into double cabins and set sail for a magical cruise on the Baltic Sea, traversing the stunning Swedish archipelago. Dinner and overnight stay on board.
Early morning arrival in Sweden’s capital, Stockholm. After breakfast on board, we begin our tour of the city of 14 islands. We’ll walk through the historic center of Gamla Stan, the city’s medieval gem. We’ll see the imposing City Hall (Stadshuset), where the Nobel Banquet is held, the Royal Palace, the Opera House, and the Drottninggatan shopping street. Free time in the afternoon. We recommend a visit to the Vasa Museum or the Skansen open-air folk museum. Overnight stay.
After breakfast, we depart for Uppsala, Sweden’s religious and academic center. We will visit the Cathedral and the Royal Castle. Next stop is the city of Örebro with its imposing castle. Our final stop for today is Norway’s capital, Oslo. Check-in at the hotel and a first look at the elegant Karl Johans gate and the lively Aker Brygge waterfront. Overnight stay.
After breakfast, we begin our guided tour of Oslo. We will see City Hall (where the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded), the Parliament, the National Theater, and the impressive iceberg-shaped Opera House. We will tour Vigeland Park. Next, we depart for Gothenburg (Göteborg), the maritime heart of Sweden. Check-in at the hotel and free time to get a first glimpse of the city. Overnight stay.
Morning tour of Gothenburg, passing along Avenyn Avenue and Götaplatsen Square. We then depart for Malmö, where we will visit Stortorget Square and the picturesque Lilla Torg. In the afternoon, we cross the impressive Øresund Bridge, which connects Sweden with Denmark. Arrival in Copenhagen, check-in at the hotel, and time for a first stroll through Tivoli Gardens. Overnight stay.
Guided tour of fairytale Copenhagen. We’ll see City Hall Square with the statue of Hans Christian Andersen, Amalienborg Palace, the impressive Gefion Fountain, and, of course, the Little Mermaid. We’ll continue to Christiansborg Palace (Parliament) and the picturesque Nyhavn canal. Optionally, we’ll enjoy a canal cruise. In the afternoon, free time on the Strøget pedestrian street for shopping and Danish beer. Overnight stay.
After breakfast, we recommend an optional excursion to the castles of Denmark. We will visit Kronborg Castle, Hamlet’s Castle (UNESCO), and the magnificent Frederiksborg Castle, the most impressive in the country. Return to Copenhagen, transfer to the airport, and return flight to Thessaloniki.
