Field Trip Itinerary

DAY 1Departure flight - STOCKHOLM

Meet at the airport and depart on a direct flight to Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. Arrival in Stockholm, a city spread across dozens of islands and often referred to as the “Venice of the North.” Welcome by our local guide and departure for the city center. Our tour begins at City Hall, where the official Nobel Prize banquet takes place. Next is the Royal Palace, one of the largest and most impressive palaces in Europe, where we will watch the changing of the guard and stroll through the square surrounding it. The tour continues to Gamla Stan, the old town with its narrow, cobblestone streets, quaint shops, and traditional cafés. Here we’ll have the chance to see centuries-old churches, small museums, and mansions that bear witness to the city’s medieval history. The afternoon is free for a stroll along the canals, a visit to the Vasa Museum, which houses the perfectly preserved 17th-century warship, or for shopping in Stockholm’s trendy neighborhoods. The day ends with some downtime at the hotel. Overnight stay in Stockholm.

DAY 2Stockholm – Uppsala – Sigtuna

Today is yours to enjoy however you wish. We suggest you join us on an optional excursion to Uppsala, home to the massive observatory, the famous University, and the grand 14th-century Cathedral. After a brief tour, we’ll have the chance to visit Sweden’s oldest city, founded in 960 AD: Sigtuna. On our tour, we’ll see Sweden’s smallest town hall, the museum chronicling the village’s history, and Lake Mälaren, which flows through the village. You can relax and enjoy a hot chocolate at Aunt Brum’s café—or, in the local dialect, Tant Bruns Kaffestuga—which has been in operation since 1600 and offers savory and sweet treats along with hot beverages. It has been awarded as one of the best bakeries and cafés in the country. Return to Stockholm. As soon as it gets dark, be sure to try some Swedish vodka and potato schnapps at a bar in the city center! Overnight stay in Stockholm.

DAY 3Stockholm – Karlstad – Oslo

After breakfast, we’ll depart by road for Norway, stopping along the way at the Karlstad University campus. Our route takes us through lush green valleys, quiet villages, and lakes that mirror the sky, offering unique photo opportunities. Stop in Karlstad, a city full of life and youthful energy, built on Lake Vänern, with its crystal-clear waters and picturesque surroundings. Continue to Oslo, arrival, and check-in at the hotel. The evening is free for a stroll through the cosmopolitan Aker Brygge, an area full of restaurants, cafes, and bars right by the sea. The atmosphere is lively and ideal for a first taste of the Norwegian capital. Overnight stay in Oslo.

DAY 4Oslo – City tour – Geilo

Breakfast and a guided tour of Oslo: the unique Vigeland Park, featuring more than 200 sculptures depicting the cycle of human life; the impressive City Hall; and the Oslo Opera House, which appears to rise out of the water. Visit to the Viking Ship Museum in Bygdøy, where well-preserved ships and artifacts are on display, highlighting the Vikings’ seafaring heritage. Afternoon departure for Geilo, a picturesque mountain resort. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel and free time to relax or take short walks along the area’s beautiful trails. The area is famous for its authentic Norwegian houses and the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Overnight stay in Geilo.

DAY 5Geilo – Cruise on the Sognefjord – Flam – Bergen

After breakfast, we depart for picturesque Gudvangen, where we embark on a breathtaking two-hour cruise on the Sognefjord, Norway’s largest and perhaps most impressive fjord. After the cruise, disembark at Flam, a picturesque village on the shores of the fjord. Board the Flamsbana railway, considered one of the most impressive railway routes in the world. Our journey takes us through gorges, valleys, and waterfalls, offering countless visual delights. We continue to Bergen, the capital of the fjords, a city with a rich cultural and historical heritage that blends picturesque wooden buildings with modern life. Arrival in the afternoon and check-in at the hotel. In the evening, you can enjoy a first stroll through the city and experience Bergen’s unique atmosphere. Overnight stay in Bergen.

We continue to the traditional fish market, where we can see fresh seafood and local products. The tour concludes with a trip to Fløyen Hill, which rises 320 meters above the city. We’ll board the traditional Floibanen funicular, from where we’ll enjoy panoramic views of the city and the fjord. This is followed by free time for lunch or exploring the city’s museums.
