Breakfast at the hotel. We depart for the port where we will board the boat to Symi. This Venetian island is rightly considered one of the most beautiful in the Dodecanese, with its unique architecture. In Symi, we’ll see the traditional houses built side by side on the steep slopes. A stroll through the narrow streets and a visit to the sponge-diving workshops are must-do experiences. Our next stop is the port of Panormitis, home to the Holy Monastery of Taxiarchis of Panormitis, with its magnificent frescoes, library, the folklore museum inside, and an impressive wood-carved iconostasis. A visit to Panormitis is an experience that seems to exude its own mystical energy. Boarding the ship, arrival in Rhodes, and transfer to your hotel. Overnight stay.
Breakfast at the hotel, then we depart for the remote and famous Kastellorizo. A magical island with many stately examples of Dodecanese architecture built around the sea, leaving a lasting impression on visitors. At the summit, the ruined medieval castle overlooks the islet of Ro to the west of the island. Feel a sense of national pride when you think of the island’s sole resident raising the Greek flag every day. Stroll through the preserved village along the waterfront, past traditional mansions with colorful facades. The boat is the only means of transportation to inaccessible shores and caves, such as the incredibly beautiful Blue Cave, where some lucky visitors spot a seal resting in the cave. Board the ship and return to Rhodes in the late afternoon. Overnight stay.
Breakfast at the hotel, followed by a full-day excursion to Lindos. A stop at the Kallithea Springs, a stop at the Church of Panagia Tsambika, and we arrive at the uniquely beautiful village of Lindos. The Acropolis of Lindos is built on a steep 116-meter-high cliff, towering over the traditional village with its picturesque alleys, buildings of distinctive architecture, and the impressive view of the Aegean Sea, which we will visit. You will then have free time to discover the area’s beauty as well as the local cafes and restaurants. Return to the hotel. Overnight stay.
Breakfast at the hotel, and we’ll begin our exploration of the “Island of the Sun” with a tour of the city of Rhodes. We’ll take a panoramic bus tour of Monte Smith Hill with the ruins of the ancient Acropolis, the Temple of Apollo, and the Ancient Stadium, from where we’ll have the chance to admire a panoramic view of the Medieval City of Rhodes. Next, a tour of the Medieval City where we will admire the palace, the archaeological museum, the Street of the Knights, the picturesque Mandraki, and the Aquarium. Free time to stroll through the cobblestone streets lined with impressive buildings. Return to the hotel. Overnight stay
Breakfast and a free day at your leisure (optional) to stroll through the picturesque alleys of the old town and the market in the new town. If you wish, you can swim at Elli Beach in front of the Mediterranean for those staying in city hotels, and at Ixia in front of the private beach of the Rodos Palace. Overnight stay.
Breakfast and a visit to Filerimos, located in the Ialysos area. We will see the ancient acropolis of Ialysos, the Monastery of Panagia Filerimos, the two chapels of Prophet Elias, and the path to Golgotha. At an elevation of 267 m, it offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the northern side of the island of Rhodes. Something else that will impress you is the large number of butterflies you’ll see all around! The Valley of the Butterflies is a nature reserve in the northern part of the island. It is a place as idyllic as its name suggests, and well worth a visit. It has been one of the island’s most famous attractions for decades. This terrestrial habitat offers a breathtaking landscape, dense vegetation, stunning wooden bridges, paved paths, small lakes, endless waterfalls, a serene atmosphere, and a magical experience for all its visitors. Here, you’ll also have the chance to see the beautiful butterfly species known as Panaxia Quadripunctaria! Our excursion comes to an end, and our destination is Diagoras Airport to catch our return flight to Thessaloniki.
