The experience begins with a direct, nonstop flight on Royal Jordanian to Amman. As we leave Greece and Europe behind, the Middle East unfolds before us: a land of cultures, religions, and histories spanning thousands of years. Upon our arrival at Queen Alia International Airport, the Greek tour leader and the local guide welcome you, ensuring a smooth and quick entry into the country. All procedures are handled with care and convenience, ensuring that our first encounter with Jordan is positive and stress-free. We’ll then take a private transfer in an air-conditioned luxury coach to our hotel in Amman. Our first evening is dedicated to settling in, relaxing, and savoring the feeling that we are now in a different world. From here on out, everything has been planned just for us.
After breakfast, we set out to discover one of Jordan’s most impressive historical sites, where the Hellenistic and Roman worlds left an indelible mark. Our first stop is Jerash, one of the best-preserved Greco-Roman cities in the world. The city was founded during the Hellenistic period and flourished during the Roman era, serving as an important member of the Decapolis. As we walk along its cobblestone streets, we come across Hadrian’s Arch, the Hippodrome, the impressive Oval Forum, the Temple of Artemis, and the majestic Colonnade. Jerash is not merely an archaeological site; it is an entire city that seems to still be “alive,” revealing the daily life, religion, and architecture of antiquity. We then head to Ajloun, a region distinguished by its lush green landscape. Here we visit Al-Rabad Castle, built in the 12th century in a strategic location. The castle played a decisive role in controlling trade routes and defending against the Crusaders. From its walls, the view stretches across the entire Jordan Valley, highlighting the region’s geostrategic importance. The day concludes in Umm Qais, ancient Gadara. Built on a natural balcony, the city offers a unique view of the Sea of Galilee and the Golan Heights. Here, history is directly linked to biblical references, while the ruins of the theaters, baths, and streets reveal a city at the height of its intellectual and philosophical glory. We return to the distinctive city of Amman and have time to rest at our hotel.
We leave behind the modern face of the capital and embark on a journey deep into time, where history, faith, and mysticism coexist in harmony. Our first stop is historic Mandapa, a town that resembles a living museum of mosaic art. Walking through its quiet alleys, we feel that every corner hides a story spanning centuries. At the Church of St. George, we come face to face with one of the most important treasures of Christian art: the famous 6th-century mosaic map of Palestine. We lean in close and observe the details—the cities, rivers, and paths of the Holy Land, as they were depicted fifteen centuries ago. It is an experience that makes us realize the continuity of time and the power of human creation. We continue our journey to a place of deep spirituality, Mount Nebo. As we ascend, the landscape opens up before us and the atmosphere becomes almost ritualistic. According to tradition, this is where Moses stood and gazed upon the Promised Land before the end of his life. We visit the ruins of the ancient monastery and stand in silence before the view that stretches out boundlessly: the Jordan Valley, the tranquil surface of the Dead Sea, and, in the distance, the lands of the Holy Land. It is a moment that needs no words—only time to let it touch us. Later, we head south. The journey takes us through ever-changing landscapes, where the earth shifts in color and texture, preparing us for the grandeur that lies ahead. As we approach Petra, the sense of anticipation grows ever stronger. We arrive at the place that has captivated travelers and explorers for centuries, Jordan’s iconic city, carved into the pink rock. We settle into our hotel and let the day come to a peaceful close. The evening in Petra has a special energy: we know we are right next to one of the world’s most impressive archaeological sites and that the next day we will discover it step by step, accompanied by images, stories, and emotions, and with the sense that the journey is only just beginning. Late in the afternoon, following the same historic route used by merchants, armies, and pilgrims for centuries, we arrive in the Petra region.
Today is dedicated to one of the most impressive and mysterious archaeological sites in the world: Petra. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, Petra is not merely an archaeological site—it is an entire city carved into the rock. The experience begins with a walk through the Siq, the natural gorge approximately 1.2 km long, which serves as a ceremonial entrance to the city. As we walk between the towering rock walls, we come to understand how the Nabataeans exploited the geography for the city’s protection, control, and water supply. Suddenly, the Treasury (Al Khazneh), Petra’s most iconic monument, is revealed before us. Carved with incredible precision into the pink rock, it was most likely a royal mausoleum. Here we grasp the cultural synthesis of the Nabataeans: Hellenistic, Roman, and Eastern elements coexist harmoniously. We continue along the Street of Facades, where dozens of tombs and monuments bear witness to the city’s power and wealth. We see the Roman Theater, carved into the rock, with a capacity of approximately 7,000 spectators, a sign of Roman influence following the region’s incorporation into the empire. Our tour continues to the Colonnade, the urban center of Petra, and the Qasr al-Bint temple, one of the few temples still standing. Our official guide helps us understand how this city functioned as a commercial hub controlling the caravan routes of Arabia. There is free time for personal exploration: a climb to the imposing Monastery (Ad Deir), a visit to the Byzantine Church with its mosaics, or to the High Place of Sacrifice, where the view reveals the grandeur of the landscape. Petra is not simply “visited”—it is experienced. The visit to Petra is organized with an official tour guide present.
Leaving behind the stone and history, we head toward Jordan’s ultimate natural landscape: Wadi Rum. It is one of the most impressive desert landscapes on the planet, a UNESCO-protected area, also known as “The Valley of the Moon.” Here, the landscape changes dramatically: massive sandstone formations, natural bridges, canyons, and sand dunes create an almost surreal setting. It is no coincidence that it has served as the backdrop for dozens of film productions and was the setting for the legendary T.E. Lawrence. The exploration takes place in a 4×4 jeep, accompanied by a Bedouin guide, following routes that have been used for centuries. We visit Lawrence’s Spring, the Hazali Gorge with its ancient rock carvings, natural arches, and panoramic viewpoints that reveal the vastness and silent power of the desert. As the sun sets, the landscape is painted in shades of red and gold. This moment cannot be described—it must simply be experienced. In the evening, we enjoy a traditional dinner at the Desert Camp, getting a firsthand look at Bedouin hospitality and way of life. Spending the night under the starry sky, far from any artificial light, is an experience of complete disconnection and inner peace.
After breakfast in the desert, we set off for a completely different destination: the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth, approximately 430 meters below sea level. The Dead Sea is not just a sea; it is a natural phenomenon. Its waters have an extremely high concentration of salts and minerals, allowing the body to float effortlessly. Bathing here is an experience of relaxation and wellness. The famous black mud, rich in magnesium, calcium, and potassium, has been used for centuries for therapeutic and cosmetic purposes. It is no coincidence that the Dead Sea was a favorite destination of Cleopatra and King Herod. We enjoy our stay at a well-organized seaside resort, complete with all amenities, a relaxation area, and a meal. It’s the perfect day for rest, rejuvenation, and unwinding.
We begin our day today with one of the most unique natural phenomena on the planet, the legendary Dead Sea. We are at the lowest point on Earth, in an almost surreal place where time seems to slow down and the body surrenders to the natural harmony of the landscape. The calm, salty waters of the Dead Sea offer us the unique experience of complete buoyancy, while the silence and light create a setting of deep relaxation and renewal. It is an experience unlike any other, one that remains etched in both body and memory. We leave this rare natural wonder behind and head toward the country’s capital, the vibrant and multifaceted city of Amman. Here begins our introduction to the daily life, history, and pulse of a city that uniquely blends the past with the present. Our tour begins at the imposing Amman Citadel, which towers over the city center. We wander among ruins that bear witness to the succession of civilizations from the Roman to the early Islamic period and visit the Jordan Museum, which houses important artifacts that shed light on the region’s history from prehistory to historical times. From the Acropolis hill, we enjoy a panoramic view of Amman, with white houses spreading across the hills like a mosaic. We then head down to the historic center and stroll through the colorful Downtown Amman souk, where the heart of local life beats. Amid small shops, the scents of spices, the voices of merchants, and everyday scenes, we come into direct contact with the city’s authentic character. This is the moment when Amman reveals itself to us unfiltered, genuine, and welcoming. Our tour concludes with a visit to Amman’s impressive Roman theater, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Built in the 2nd century AD and with a capacity of approximately 6,000 spectators, the Roman theater stands imposing, reminding us of Amman’s long history as an important urban center. The city tour is self-paced, giving us time to enjoy each stop. This day perfectly combines the natural uniqueness of the Dead Sea with the vibrant history and pulse of the capital, offering us a comprehensive picture of Jordan, as only we know how to experience it.
Our morning in Amman is peaceful and unhurried. It’s the moment when the journey is no longer “rushing” but has settled into a rhythm. We have already traversed ancient roads thousands of years old, walked through lost cities, slept in the desert, and floated at the lowest point on Earth. Jordan is no longer just a destination—it is an experience. Jordan’s capital has long been a crossroads of civilizations, and this is now understood not just in theory, but through lived experience. We then proceed to Queen Alia International Airport in a private, air-conditioned vehicle, accompanied by our local team. Departure procedures are handled smoothly and stress-free, as we take with us images, stories, and experiences that cannot be captured in photographs. A journey measured not in kilometers but in moments comes to an end—yet leaves behind the feeling that we have discovered a place that is authentic, deeply human, and historically unique.
