Departures from Athens, Thessaloniki, Larnaca
Jordan | 6 days Discover Mars without leaving Earth’s orbit! If seeing all 7 Wonders of the World is on your bucket list, then start with Jordan. A nearby destination, yet so different. A safe country to travel to, with friendly people and breathtaking landscapes. Its otherworldly landscapes have served as the backdrop for many films and inspired countless artists. It combines a Mediterranean climate with the desert and a rich history, and we’ll make the most of it. Now close your eyes and imagine yourself wandering through Petra in Jordan, gazing at the stars in a desert reminiscent of Mars, floating in the Dead Sea, and feeling the oriental aura. Staying in the Wadi Rum desert in traditional Bedouin tents, a camel ride, a tour in local vehicles, and a traditional Bedouin evening with dinner in the desert, all add a unique touch to a journey that could be described as an adventure trip. And all of this with the best company. Because trust us, we won’t be just any ordinary group!
Thessaloniki "Macedonia" Airport (Google Maps)
The day has finally arrived when you can leave your routine and worries behind in Greece… because you’re off on a trip! We’ll meet up at the airport and get to know each other. As soon as we arrive in Amman and collect our luggage, we’ll head to Wadi Musa. The drive may take about 3 hours, but the time will fly by, as along the way you’ll receive your first insights into this wonderful country. We have traveled to Jordan many times and know the destination very well. Once we’ve settled in, you’ll have the chance to try the local cuisine. Tonight we’ll be staying in Wadi Musa.
Starting today, we’ll be immersing ourselves in the history and beauty of this place. Early in the morning, we’ll depart for Petra in Jordan, one of the Seven Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The “Lost City” still has secrets to reveal. Thousands of years ago, the now-abandoned city of Petra was a metropolis of 30,000 inhabitants. The only entrance is a gorge, surrounded by mountains, that will lead you to a city carved into the rocks. Camels, donkeys, and friendly locals are the first sights you’ll encounter. Put on comfortable shoes and get ready—as you walk, one monument after another will unfold before you, culminating in the Treasury! You’ll admire the Royal Tombs, the Byzantine cathedral—which was discovered relatively recently—and the Roman side of the city, where the Temple of the Pharaoh’s Daughter is located. Without a doubt, Petra is a sight that will impress you, even if you’re a seasoned traveler! In the evening, if you’d like, you can enjoy a drink at the Cave Bar, the oldest bar in the world, as it’s located in a 2,000-year-old cave. The cave itself was originally built as a tomb by the Nabataeans.
We enjoy a hearty breakfast and head to the “Valley of the Moon,” the Wadi Rum desert. The film *Lawrence of Arabia* revealed its beauty to the rest of the world, attracting not only Hollywood but also thousands of travelers. Covering an area of 720 square kilometers, it is Jordan’s second most important attraction after Petra, and we will be “camping” here tonight. This is an experience for you if you want to experience something different from yet another luxurious hotel stay. We’ll discover the “Valley of the Moon” in a… unique way. We’ll board local vehicles, where our Bedouin drivers are the perfect people to immerse you in the secrets of the desert. Put on your turban, hop into one of the vehicles (6 people per vehicle), and feel the freedom in this desert landscape. In the evening, we’ll camp here, where our new friends, the Bedouins, will show us their hospitality with a traditional dinner. All this against the most enchanting backdrop, under the starlight!
Waking up in the desert is a unique experience. If you’d like, you can opt to get up early to watch the sunrise on a special camel ride through the desert. Afterward, we head to the Sweimeh area. Another wonder of nature is found here in Jordan: the Dead Sea. It is the lowest point on Earth, and it’s impossible to… sink! That’s because it contains ten times more salt than seawater. Caution! Don’t dive in… You’ll regret it, since the extra salt will make your eyes sting! There, you’ll have the chance to swim and enjoy its therapeutic properties. We continue on to Amman, the capital of Jordan, where we will spend the night.
Wake up, grab a strong cup of coffee, and get ready for a day that has it all… Ancient vibes and stunning sights. First stop: Jerash, just an hour from Amman, one of the best-preserved Roman archaeological sites in the world. Stroll through the oval plaza with its massive columns, head up to the South Theater for the view and atmosphere, and don’t forget to snap a photo in front of the Temple of Artemis. In the afternoon, take it easy in the city center. Stroll down Rainbow Street, discover local shops, grab a coffee with a view, or head up to the Acropolis for the best panoramic view of Amman. It’s your day, and it’s made for exploring at your own pace, without any pressure.
Today, after breakfast, we’re heading to the airport to catch our flight home. And that’s how this trip will end—in just a few days, you’ll see many wonderful places, have intense experiences and moments, and make new friends! So if your friends aren’t coming along, don’t… worry! We’ve got a way to make you love solo travel!
