Field Trip Itinerary

DAY 1Flight to Budapest – First impressions of the city – Budapest by Night

Meet at Makedonia Airport and depart on a direct flight to the enchanting capital of Hungary. From the very moment we arrive in Budapest, we begin our exploration of a city steeped in history, with an aristocratic aura and unique beauty. Without wasting any time, we set out on our first tour to discover the city’s most important landmarks.

During our tour, we’ll see the imposing Heroes’ Square with its impressive Millennium Monument, City Park, the Zoo, the famous Széchenyi Baths, the city’s permanent circus, as well as the glamorous Andrássy Avenue, one of the most beautiful avenues in Europe, with its well-preserved aristocratic buildings, the Opera House, and the atmosphere of a bygone era. We will continue to St. Stephen’s Basilica, the Academy of Sciences, and the historic center of Pest, before crossing to the royal side of the city, Buda, via the famous bridge that connects the two banks of the Danube.

In Buda, we will climb up to Castle Hill and the Fishermen’s Bastion, one of the city’s most photographed spots, with a breathtaking view of the Danube and the impressive Parliament Building. In the heart of the old town, we’ll visit Trinity Square and the magnificent Matthias Church, one of Budapest’s most important Gothic monuments. Here, we’ll have time to enjoy a coffee or a drink against the backdrop of enchanting Pest.

We will then head to our hotel and settle into our rooms. In the evening, we recommend joining one of the most beautiful experiences one can have in Budapest: the “Budapest by Night” evening tour and a cruise on the Danube. As the boat glides along the river, the illuminated city reveals all its splendor. The Parliament Building, the bridges, Buda Castle, and the capital’s most important monuments, bathed in the lights of the night, create a romantic, dazzling, and truly unforgettable scene. Overnight stay.

DAY 2The Magical Corners of Budapest – City Park – Historic Metro – Covered Market – Váci Street

After breakfast at the hotel, the day is dedicated to a special experience that will make our trip even more enriching, as we’re offering you a complimentary additional tour of the city’s magical corners. Together with our experienced guide, we’ll visit spots that reveal the most authentic, beautiful, and charming character of Budapest.

Our day begins at the famous City Park (Varosliget), one of the most beloved recreational areas. Here we’ll visit the fairytale-like Vajdahunyad Castle, the famous Széchenyi Thermal Baths, the zoo, and of course the imposing Heroes’ Square. Next, we’ll enjoy a brief yet unique experience riding Budapest’s first metro line, which opened in 1896 and is one of the oldest metro systems in Europe.

We then head to the famous Covered Market, one of Budapest’s liveliest and most distinctive spots. Here you’ll have the chance to experience firsthand the local products, aromas, flavors, and everyday life of the city. Our tour concludes on the famous Vaci Utca pedestrian shopping street, one of Budapest’s liveliest and most elegant streets. There, we’ll have free time for shopping, strolling, having coffee, or dining at one of the local restaurants.

DAY 3Day trip to Vienna

For today, we recommend a unique optional excursion to glamorous Vienna, the elegant capital of Austria. Upon arriving in Vienna, we will begin our tour of the city’s most important monuments and attractions. We will see the distinctive Kunsthaus, as well as the Baroque Belvedere Palace complex. Next, we will pass through Charles Square with the imposing Church of St. Charles Borromeo and the House of the Society of Friends of Music.

Our tour continues along the famous Ringstrasse, the historic ring road that encircles the center of Vienna. We will see the State Opera House, the Hofburg Winter Palace, the twin museums of Art History and Natural History, the Parliament, City Hall, and the University. We will also walk through the historic Greek quarter, and as we cross the historic center, we will reach the famous St. Stephen’s Cathedral. Free time for a stroll, coffee, or shopping, and later return to Budapest.

DAY 4Field Trip to the Danube Villages

After breakfast, we set off on another wonderful optional excursion, this time to the picturesque Danube Villages. Our first stop will be the beautiful Szentendre, a fairytale-like village with an artistic vibe, cobblestone alleys, and colorful houses.

We continue to Visegrád, a region steeped in history and offering magnificent views of the Danube. The route continues to historic Esztergom, the first capital of the Hungarians. Here, the majestic cathedral stands out, one of Hungary’s most important religious monuments. At noon, we return to Budapest so you have extra time for your own activities. We recommend visiting the impressive Parliament Building, one of Europe’s most iconic structures.

DAY 5Free time - Return flight

We’ve reached the last day of this wonderful summer trip to Budapest. After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll have a little more time for one last stroll through the city, a farewell coffee, or some last-minute shopping. We will then be transferred to the airport for our return flight to Greece.
