Tinos, with its Panagia of Tinos, is known as the “Island of Faith,” with hundreds of churches and chapels bearing witness to this reputation. Travelers call it the beautiful bride of the Cyclades. It is beautiful not only because of its natural beauty but also because of the exceptional Aegean architecture found in its unique villages. Using granite, marble, and schist, beautiful and aesthetically pleasing bell towers, churches, and houses were built. History, a strong religious presence, traditional island architecture, golden beaches, and good tourist infrastructure are what you’ll find on this renowned island. The island’s mild climate is ideal for all kinds of activities, while the “strong” meltemi winds justify yet another nickname given to Tinos: “The Island of Aeolus.”
