Thailand: Discovering the Secrets of Exotic Asia! Thailand is one of our favorite countries, and once you get to know it, you’ll understand why. Here, you won’t know where to look first, as the activities will send your adrenaline soaring, while the beaches will be so captivating you’ll find it hard to leave. And of course, we know it’s hard to imagine yourself at an exotic destination when you’re currently at the office. But don’t worry! We’ll take care of sending you there! We’re starting with Phuket, where you’ll not only swim in heavenly waters but also go ziplining and take day trips to enchanting places. And since you’re surely jealous of the waters Leonardo DiCaprio swam in during the movie “The Beach,” we’ll also visit the Phi Phi Islands. The adventure continues to Koh Samui, an island with stunning beaches and a laid-back vibe. And since Thailand isn’t just about the sea, the next leg of the journey takes us north. Next up are Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, where you’ll visit temples with unique architecture, meet friendly elephants at an ethical sanctuary, and take a cooking class to bring the flavors home with you. The trip concludes in cosmopolitan Bangkok, where colorful street markets and the famous floating markets await you. And all of the above is just a glimpse of everything you’ll experience with the new friends you’ll make on this trip!

Field Trip Itinerary

DAY 1Departure for Thailand

We’re meeting up at the airport to get to know each other and set off together for exotic Thailand! I know, you’re already just as excited as we are before every trip—and how could you not be, when you’re heading to a country that promises so many unforgettable experiences and sights? The adventure begins, and our flight to Phuket is ready to take off!

DAY 2Arrival in Phuket - Patong Beach - Thai Massage

Starting today and for the next few days, you'll be in a summery mood. We're getting on the bus and heading to the hotel. Since we can’t check in just yet, we’ll leave our things in the lobby. That doesn’t stop us from getting a first taste of the island. If you just like to sunbathe, take a dip, and sip on a coconut, that’s fine. But if you can’t just sit around doing nothing, that’s fine too, because there are plenty of activities to do here, like jet skiing. We’ll head back to the hotel to rest, because another thing we’d recommend for today is ziplining or riding an ATV (“buggy”). If you’re an action lover and want an extra adrenaline rush, you have the option to go ziplining (optional) and literally fly over the jungle, enjoying incredible views. If you’d rather get a little dirty, you can hop on an ATV and ride along dirt trails. To wrap up the day, don’t miss out on a traditional massage unlike any you’ve ever experienced. After all, it’s no coincidence that Thai massage is one of the most famous in the world.

DAY 3Phi Phi Islands

Today we’re heading out on a day trip to the Phi Phi Islands, where the movie “The Beach” was filmed. Because, let’s face it, Hollywood certainly knows a thing or two about choosing locations for high-budget film productions. During our tour, weather permitting, we’ll stop for some snorkeling, where you’ll have the chance to see the stunning underwater world. And no, there’s no risk of… getting eaten by a shark (we know you were thinking that). Of course, you’ll have time to take a dip in the gorgeous waters or relax and take some amazing photos on the white sandy beach.

DAY 4James Bond Island

Today you’ll have the chance to visit James Bond Island. Before 1974, not many people visited it, but when the James Bond movie “The Man with the Golden Gun” was filmed there, the island’s popularity skyrocketed. You’ll take a tour of the sights, relax, and see incredible scenery. You’ll take a stroll around Hong Island, enjoy a buffet lunch in the fishing village of Panyee Island, admire the Ice Cream Caves, and go for a swim on Naka or Lawa Island. It’s a tour you won’t regret.

DAY 5Phuket - Koh Samui

We’ll have a good breakfast and head to the airport to catch our flight to Koh Samui. It’s located in the Gulf of Thailand and is known for its beautiful beaches and the 12-meter-tall golden Buddha statue at Wat Phra Yai. No wonder, then, that Koh Samui is one of the most popular beach destinations in the world! You’ll have time to get a first taste of the area, and in the evening, head out for a few drinks in this exotic paradise.

DAY 6Koh Samui

Diving We chose a hotel near the beach so you can enjoy this beautiful island to the fullest. Make the most of your day however you like, whether by relaxing on the beach or, if you’d like, trying a Thai massage at one of the island’s many spa centers. In the evening, head out to downtown Chaweng to sample the local cuisine. In fact, don’t be afraid to try street food. After all, that’s one of the best ways to truly immerse yourself in Thai culture.

DAY 7Koh Samui

Day off – Night out. Yes, you got it right! This is what your daily routine will look like for the next few days. It’s not a bad thing to let yourself relax and disconnect from the stresses of everyday life. Wake up at your own pace, enjoy your breakfast, and take it easy all day long. Visit an idyllic spa, dine at a nice restaurant, or simply soak up the sun in this enchanting place. If you’d like, you can head to Lamai Beach, which has a more laid-back vibe than the bustling Chaweng Beach. In the evening, of course, we’ll go out for some cocktails.

DAY 8Wat Doi Suthep

Elephant Sanctuary Today, we’re skipping breakfast, as we’re heading to the airport very early in the morning to catch our flight to Chiang Mai. We’ll start our tour at Wat Doi Suthep, which offers breathtaking views. You’ll need to climb an impressive Naga (serpent) staircase with about 300 steps. The difficulty level is moderate, and if you don’t have any serious mobility issues, it’s doable. You’ll just get a little out of breath, especially in the heat. Alternatively, there’s a small funicular right next to the base of the staircase. For a small fee (about 2 euros), it’s the perfect solution if you can’t or don’t want to climb the steps. However, when you visit Chiang Mai, one of the most beautiful experiences you can have is visiting an elephant sanctuary that operates with respect and care for the animals. At these sanctuaries, you don’t participate in activities that exploit the animals, but you have the opportunity to feed and care for the elephants, giving them the love and attention they deserve. You’ll learn about their history, the challenges they face, and how these sanctuaries help them safely reintegrate into the wild, far from abuse. It’s a unique opportunity to connect with nature and offer help in a way that respects the animals. In the evening, wrap up your day at the bustling Night Bazaar. After all, what could be better than street food and markets? Here, you absolutely must try Khao Soi, the famous northern Thai curry noodle soup.

DAY 9Chiang Mai

Thai Cooking Class Today, after breakfast, we’ll visit the Old City, home to the imposing Wat Chedi Luang and the golden Wat Phra Singh. Afterward, you can discover another side of Thai culture by optionally participating in a Thai cooking class. If you enjoy local cuisine and love constantly learning new things, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to take a cooking class with a local chef. Most cooking schools start the class with a visit to a local market, where you’ll have the chance to buy fresh ingredients such as herbs, spices, vegetables, and meats—the foundation of authentic Thai cuisine. From there, the class continues with learning how to prepare dishes like pad thai, green curry, or tom yum soup. The experience is fun and very interactive, and the best part is that at the end you’ll get to enjoy the dishes you made with your own hands, on a culinary journey through the flavors of Thailand.

DAY 10Chiang Rai - White Temple - Blue Temple - Black Temple

Today, after breakfast, we’re heading to Chiang Rai to visit the White, Blue, and Black Temples. So get ready to take lots of photos. First stop is the stunning White Temple (Wat Rong Khun), a creation by artist Chalermchai Kositpipat that is truly one-of-a-kind and unique in the world. The moment you arrive, the temple’s white glow and intricate architecture will captivate you. Be sure to set aside some time for photos, as every corner is filled with symbolism and exquisite detail. Immediately afterward, we’ll drive for about 20 minutes to the Blue Temple (Wat Rong Suea Ten), which is newer than the White Temple but just as impressive. This temple is filled with shades of blue and gold, giving it a modern and atmospheric feel. You’ll be impressed by both its exterior and interior, with its intricate murals and religious symbols. The third and final stop of the day is the Baan Dam Museum, the Black Temple (about 15–20 minutes from the Blue Temple). Although it is called “Black,” this temple is actually a collection of black-painted buildings, buildings, and unique works of art that blend traditional Thai architecture with contemporary art. Although it isn’t a temple in the strict sense, this space creates an otherworldly atmosphere and is filled with stunning works of art, through which you can also learn about the region’s cultural heritage. In your free time, we recommend relaxing at Lalita Cafe. There, you can enjoy your coffee in a setting straight out of the pages of Peter Pan. Tonight you’ll spend the night in Chiang Rai.

DAY 11Bangkok

Today, after breakfast, we’re heading to the airport to catch our flight to Bangkok. As soon as we arrive, we’ll board our bus and set off on a city tour. First, we’ll head to the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) to soak up the majestic royal atmosphere. Please note that there is a dress code, so you must wear appropriate clothing (no bare shoulders, knees, or open-toed shoes). Next, visit Wat Pho and marvel at the enormous Reclining Buddha while enjoying the temple’s serene atmosphere. If you see a street vendor selling local delicacies, don’t hesitate to give them a try. After all, Thailand is one of the countries famous for its street food. Next, we’ll head to the hotel, where you’ll have time to take a shower and rest. In the evening, we’d recommend checking out the city’s nightlife—which, let’s face it, is pretty wild!

DAY 12Floating Market

Today, if you’d like, you can visit one of the famous floating markets. If you’ve done even a little research on Thailand, you’ve surely come across photos of floating markets. Anyone traveling to Bangkok wants to have this experience, and they’re absolutely right. Imagine locals in their traditional hats, filling their wooden boats with fresh fruit and coconuts from which you can drink the freshest juice. If you’re hungry, you can try some freshly prepared local food. The colors, smells, flavors, and buzz around you will transport you, and you’ll feel the true joy of being in a foreign country. Alternatively, if you prefer, you can wander around Bangkok and explore the city at your own pace!

DAY 13Back to Greece

Today, after breakfast, we’re taking off for Greece. Visibly tanned and relaxed, full of experiences and new friends, you’ll be the envy of many colleagues, friends, and enemies. Your response will be the photos of you under coconut palms, drinking fresh coconut water on golden beaches, or posing in crystal-clear waters. Either way, this trip will fill you with a whole range of emotions and whet your appetite for more getaways!
