Field Trip Itinerary

DAY 1Flight to Stockholm - City tour

We meet at Macedonia Airport and depart on a direct flight to Stockholm. Upon arrival at the airport, we board the bus and, without wasting any time, begin our tour of the city. Built on 14 islands connected by a series of bridges, Sweden was for over 200 years the most powerful state in Northern Europe, a position that was only much later, the rise of Tsarist Russia gradually confined it to its current geographical boundaries. Today’s tour will reveal the unparalleled beauty of Sweden’s aristocratic capital. Walking through the historic center with its many medieval buildings, we become witnesses to an exceptionally well-preserved secret, which time has left untouched. After all, the city was not bombed during World War II, which helps it proudly maintain its architectural vigor. The famous City Hall, with its Golden Hall where the reception in honor of Nobel Prize-winning scientists and artists is held, the neoclassical Royal Palace, the majestic Baroque Opera House, Omonia Square, as well as the many aristocratic buildings in the city center, immediately capture our interest. Free time for lunch, followed by transfer and check-in at the hotel. The afternoon is at your leisure. From interesting themed museums to the changing of the guard at the Royal Palace or coffee at trendy hangouts, the options vary depending on your personal interests.

DAY 2Stockholm – Uppsala – Sigtuna

Today is yours to enjoy however you wish. We suggest you join us on an optional excursion to Uppsala, home to the massive observatory, the famous University, and the grand 14th-century Cathedral. After a brief tour, we’ll have the chance to visit Sweden’s oldest city, Sigtuna, founded in 960 AD. On our tour, we’ll see Sweden’s smallest town hall, the museum chronicling the village’s history, and Lake Mälaren, which flows through the village. You can relax and enjoy a hot chocolate at Aunt Brum’s café—or, in the local dialect, Tant Bruns Kaffestuga—which has been in operation since 1600 and offers savory and sweet treats along with hot beverages. It has been awarded as one of the best bakeries and cafés in the country. Return to Stockholm. As soon as it gets dark, be sure to try Swedish vodka and potato raki at a bar in the city center!

DAY 3ABBA Museum - Skansen - Gamla Stan

You simply can’t come here and not visit this “museum.” After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll start with a visit to the ABBA Museum. Even if you think you don’t know this legendary band, you’re wrong. Step inside and dance until you drop. The ABBA Museum isn’t your typical museum. Of course, the members’ costumes, gold records, authentic artifacts, memorabilia, and much more are all here. You can see what you’d look like in their legendary costumes, sing in the Polar Studio, experience thrilling 3D illusions, and take the stage alongside the band. Your experience will be recorded under your personal number on your ticket, creating your own personal page where you can relive your visit. Next, we’ll head to the vast Skansen open-air museum with its zoo, which is a miniature version of Sweden. More than 150 traditional buildings, such as windmills, farms, and small villages have been reconstructed region by region with the necessary flora and fauna, depicting the daily life of a typical Scandinavian town, while also serving as a major attraction for tourists. For the evening, we recommend a stroll through Gamla Stan, the city’s oldest island district, where the medieval character remains unchanged. Enjoy an ice-cold Absolut (the Swedes’ answer to the dominance of Russian vodka) in the central square, with a view of the fantastic buildings and Gothic churches.

DAY 4Stockholm - Museums & Shopping - Return Flight

Breakfast, followed by a free day at your leisure. Wander through the city’s narrow, cobblestone medieval streets, which retain their traditional charm, and visit the city’s museums, which are sure to pique your interest. As you walk through the shopping streets, you’ll find that even the carefully decorated storefronts can easily be considered a city attraction, where you’ll find glassware, antiques, furniture, and more. Then transfer to Stockholm Airport for the return flight.
