The “Golden City” and “City of a Hundred Spires” dons its festive finery; the medieval squares are filled with lights and music, the wooden houses waft the aromas of mulled wine and traditional delicacies, while the Gothic towers, the Baroque churches, and the illuminated bridges over the Vltava River create a unique winter scene. In the heart of the Old Town, around the famous Astronomical Clock and the Church of Our Lady before Týn, the festive spirit of Prague comes alive. A little further on, the imposing Castle District towers over the river, Mala Strana retains the romantic atmosphere of a bygone era, and the Charles Bridge offers unforgettable views. On this trip, we don’t limit ourselves to just the classic sights. We’ve designed a comprehensive itinerary that combines authentic Prague with three of Central Europe’s most beautiful destinations: glamorous Dresden, the fairytale town of Český Krumlov, and the elegant Karlovy Vary.

We’ll meet at “Macedonia” Airport early in the morning and depart on a direct, specially chartered flight to Prague, one of Europe’s most beautiful capitals. Upon arrival, after collecting our luggage and meeting our tour leader and local guide, we’ll set out without delay on our first major exploration of the festive Czech capital. Prague is built on both banks of the Vltava River, in the heart of Bohemia, and its historic center resembles a vast open-air museum of architecture. Gothic towers, Baroque churches, Art Nouveau mansions, medieval squares, and old stately homes come together to form an urban landscape of unique beauty. Our tour will begin at Republic Square, where we’ll admire the impressive Art Nouveau City Hall and the imposing Gothic Powder Tower, one of the historic entrances to the Old Town. We’ll continue on to the famous Wenceslas Square, one of the city’s most important commercial and historic hubs. At the top of the square stand the National Museum and the statue of St. Wenceslas, while along the square we’ll find shops, historic hotels, cafés, and distinctive buildings from different architectural eras. During the holiday season, the area comes alive even more, with lights, decorated stalls, and traditional products.
Continuing toward the heart of the Old Town, we’ll pass by the famous Theater of the Classes, one of Europe’s most important historic theaters, closely associated with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the premiere of the opera *Don Giovanni*. Shortly afterward, we’ll arrive at Old Town Square, where Prague will reveal one of its most beautiful sights. We’ll admire the historic City Hall and the famous Astronomical Clock, which has been one of the city’s symbols for centuries. Across from us will rise the distinctive Gothic towers of the Church of Our Lady before Týn, while on the other side of the square stands the Baroque Church of St. Nicholas. During the Christmas and New Year’s season, the square is transformed into a truly festive setting. Illuminated wooden huts, traditional products, Czech delicacies, mulled wine, live music, and the large Christmas tree create one of the most atmospheric scenes in winter Europe. Of course, there will be time to enjoy the market, sample a hot svařák, a sweet trdelník, or some of the local delicacies, and take photos in the impressively decorated square.
Our tour will continue along the elegant Pařížská Street, one of Prague’s most exclusive shopping avenues, home to boutiques of major international fashion houses. We’ll arrive at the historic Jewish Quarter, Josefov, and see the Old-New Synagogue from the outside, as well as the area’s most important landmarks. After the tour, there will be free time for lunch, shopping, and exploring the historic center on your own.
Later, we’ll be transferred to the hotel and check into our rooms. In the evening, take a stroll through the illuminated alleyways, enjoy dinner at a traditional Czech beer hall, try the signature pork knuckle, goulash, or one of the famous local beers, and experience Prague’s unique nightlife.
After a good breakfast at the hotel, we’ll set out on one of the most important and impressive days of our trip, dedicated to Prague’s aristocratic side. We’ll first head to the historic Strahov Monastery, which towers high above the city. The area offers a magnificent first panoramic view of the red rooftops, the towers, and the Vltava River. Next, we’ll visit the Loreto district, one of Prague’s most famous religious and architectural complexes, before proceeding to the renowned Castle District. Prague Castle is not just a palace but an entire historic complex featuring palaces, churches, squares, courtyards, and fortifications. We’ll see the Presidential Palace and the historic royal residences, and we’ll arrive in front of the imposing St. Vitus Cathedral. Its Gothic towers, stained-glass windows, and impressive architecture make it one of the most important monuments in all of the Czech Republic. Inside the complex, you’ll also find the Chapel of St. Wenceslas and historical sites associated with the kings of Bohemia.
We’ll continue past St. George’s Basilica and the old royal residences, and then begin our descent toward Mala Strana. The “Lesser Town” is one of Prague’s most romantic neighborhoods. Baroque palaces, atmospheric squares, old mansions, and picturesque alleys create a completely different atmosphere from the Old Town. We’ll view the magnificent Baroque Church of St. Nicholas from the outside and then head toward the iconic Charles Bridge. We’ll cross it on foot, passing between its distinctive statues and enjoying the unique view of the Vltava River, Castle District, and both banks of the city. It’s one of those moments on the trip that’s worth savoring without rushing: street musicians, artists, historic towers, and the panoramic view of Prague come together to create a scene that’s hard to forget. Following the so-called Royal Route and the picturesque medieval alleyways, we’ll return to the Old Town. There will be free time for lunch, coffee, and shopping.
For those interested, we recommend a different experience: an optional cruise on the Vltava River. We’ll board our pre-booked boat and enjoy Prague from a completely different perspective. We’ll pass under historic bridges and see Castle District, Mala Strana, and the banks of the Old Town from the water. During the cruise, a lavish buffet lunch will be served, allowing us to combine the beautiful journey with a pleasant moment of relaxation.
In the evening, join us for one of Prague’s most unique cultural experiences: the famous Black Light Theater. A spectacle based on darkness, vivid colors, optical illusions, music, and movement, creating a magical world that requires no translation or knowledge of the language.
After breakfast, the rest of the day is yours to enjoy Prague at your own pace or, alternatively, join us on a wonderful optional excursion to neighboring Germany and the impressive city of Dresden, one of the most beautiful cities in Eastern Germany. Built on the banks of the Elbe River and the capital of Saxony, Dresden has been the seat of kings and electors for centuries, boasting impressive palaces, churches, and art collections that earned it the nickname “Florence of the North.” Despite the immense destruction it suffered during World War II, its historic heart has been reborn and today stands as a unique ensemble of Baroque architecture. Upon our arrival, we’ll begin our tour at the famous Theaterplatz, one of the city’s most impressive squares. Here stands the renowned Semperoper, the Saxon State Opera, one of Europe’s most important opera houses. Right next to it stands the imposing Zwinger, a masterpiece of Baroque architecture with striking pavilions, courtyards, and gardens. Today, the complex houses some of the city’s most important art collections and is one of Dresden’s most iconic landmarks.
We’ll continue on to the Royal Palace of Dresden, the former residence of the rulers of Saxony, and walk along the famous Fürstenzug — the Procession of the Princes, the impressive mural made of thousands of Meissen porcelain tiles depicting the rulers of the House of Wettin. We will then arrive at the imposing Frauenkirche, the Church of Our Lady, the most important symbol of modern Dresden. It was almost completely destroyed during World War II and rebuilt decades later; today, it stands as a global symbol of peace, reconciliation, and rebirth. Surrounding the Frauenkirche is the beautiful Neumarkt, with restored historic buildings, cafes, and restaurants, recreating the atmosphere of old Dresden. During the Christmas season, the city becomes even more spectacular. Lights, decorated squares, the aroma of mulled wine, and traditional German delicacies create a particularly festive atmosphere. On tours that coincide with the historic Striezelmarkt, you’ll have the chance to experience one of Germany’s most famous Christmas markets.
After our guided tour, there will be plenty of free time in the historic center for dining, coffee, shopping, and exploring on your own. Try the traditional Dresdner Stollen, enjoy a German beer, or simply stroll along the banks of the Elbe River while soaking up the atmosphere of this unique city. Return to Prague in the afternoon.
After breakfast, the rest of the day is free for those who want to spend more time exploring festive Prague. However, for those who want to discover a completely different side of the Czech Republic, we’ve planned one of the most beautiful excursions in the region. We’re heading to South Bohemia and the enchanting Český Krumlov, a small medieval town that truly looks like it’s straight out of a fairy tale. As we approach, the Vltava River forms striking meanders around the historic center, and the grand castle towers high above the red rooftops. We’ll stroll through the narrow cobblestone streets among Renaissance-style houses, small courtyards, historic buildings, and traditional shops. We’ll reach the central Svornosti Square, with its elegant Town Hall and distinctive facades, and see St. Vitus Church, one of the city’s most important landmarks. Towering above the historic center is the impressive Český Krumlov Castle complex, which for centuries served as the seat of powerful Bohemian families. From the castle grounds, we’ll enjoy a unique panoramic view of the Vltava River, the red rooftops, and the colorful houses of the old town. In winter, Český Krumlov takes on an even more romantic atmosphere. The narrow alleys, the festively decorated shop windows, the traditional cafés, and the peaceful atmosphere create an experience completely different from cosmopolitan Prague. There will be free time for lunch, photos, mulled wine, and exploring on your own. Return to Prague in the afternoon.
After breakfast and checking out of our rooms, we’ll say goodbye to festive Prague, but our trip isn’t over yet. One last special experience awaits us: the famous Karlovy Vary. We’ll set off for western Bohemia, following a scenic route through forests, small villages, and the characteristic landscapes of the Czech countryside. Upon arriving in Karlovy Vary, we’ll be greeted by a completely different scene. The famous spa town is nestled in a lush green valley along the small Teplá River and surrounded by forested hills. Colorful mansions, grand hotels, elegant arcades, and historic villas create an atmosphere of aristocratic elegance. The city was founded by Emperor Charles IV and, over the centuries, has served as a meeting place for kings, politicians, writers, musicians, and artists from all over Europe.
We’ll walk along the river and explore the famous colonnades—the impressive arcades where hot thermal springs gush forth. We’ll see the Mill Colonnade, the Market Colonnade, and the spa town’s distinctive buildings, and we’ll experience the unique tradition where visitors taste the thermal waters from the characteristic porcelain mugs. There will be free time for a stroll, lunch, coffee, and shopping. Try the city’s famous thin wafers, look for the renowned Bohemian crystal, and learn about the history of Becherovka, the famous local liqueur that has become synonymous with Karlovy Vary. With our final impressions of Bohemia still fresh in our minds, we’ll head to the Prague airport. We’ll board our direct return flight to Thessaloniki.
A journey full of colors, illuminated squares, castles, palaces, medieval towns, and festive moments has come to an end, so it’s time to head home, filled with experiences, memories, and new friends!
