Meet at Thessaloniki’s “Macedonia” Airport. Security check and flight to Paris. Upon arrival, meet your tour guide at the airport exit, and off we go to the city! Without wasting any time, we’ll immediately begin our city tour, and since we’ve just arrived and are well-rested, we’ll choose the spots that require the most walking, starting with a place where a very significant event in the city’s history took place: the Place de la Bastille. The prison that stood here was a symbol of tyranny and oppression and was demolished by the rebellious people of Paris on July 14, 1789. We’ll also see the Bastille Opera House here. We continue on, passing through Place des Vosges, the oldest square in Paris, with Victor Hugo’s house-museum, and end up in the traditional medieval Marais district, home to the Jewish quarter and Rue de Francs Bourgeois, with its imposing mansions of the French aristocracy. The Picasso Museum is also located in this area. Next stop: the Georges Pompidou Center, in the Beaubourg district. We’ll wrap up today’s tour with a visit to the famous Notre-Dame Cathedral, which has reopened its doors after five years of restoration. Transfer to the hotel and check-in. For your first night in Paris, join us for an optional evening tour featuring a cruise on the Seine and a walk up Montmartre Hill, taking in the Sacré-Cœur Basilica (Sacre Coeur) and the square with the street artists.
After breakfast, we begin our tour of the countless sights of the City of Light. We will first admire the famous Charles Garnier Opera House, then continue on to the luxurious Place Vendôme and walk through the courtyard of the Louvre, where we’ll see the Carrousel Arch and the famous glass pyramids. Crossing the right bank of the river, we will come to the artists’ wooden bridge, Place du Châtelet, and the old palace. As we walk, we will cross the Île de la Cité, ending up in the Quartier Latin. Next, we’ll continue toward the famous Sorbonne University, see the Pantheon, and stroll through the Luxembourg Gardens. Immediately after, we’ll pass by Saint-Sulpice, Saint-Germain, and the famous cafés Deux Magots and de Flore. Along the way, we’ll see the Orsay Museum, the National Assembly building, the Hôtel des Invalides (Napoleon’s tomb), and we’ll end up at the Trocadéro, with its amazing view of the Eiffel Tower. Continuing on, we’ll stop at the Arc de Triomphe, walk down the famous Champs-Élysées, and arrive at Place de la Concorde. In the Opera district, there will be free time to explore the Galleries Lafayette and Printemps department stores. This will be followed by an optional visit and guided tour of the Louvre Museum (Venus de Milo, Winged Victory of Samothrace, Joconda). Finally, we will head to the Palais Royal.
Today, join us on an optional tour of the wonderful world of Disney. We invite you to experience the Wild West (Thunder Mountain), ride the Indiana Jones train, and visit Pirate Island. Experience the magical world of Sleeping Beauty, Pinocchio, and Peter Pan, and take a thrilling ride on Star Tour and Space Mountain. Return to the hotel. For the evening, we suggest a stroll through the bustling Beaubourg district.
Today you can spend the day as you wish or join us on an optional excursion to Normandy. We’ll head to Honfleur, a picturesque fishing village bursting with color, popular with Impressionist painters. We’ll see the “Vieux Bassin” harbor and the wooden Church of St. Catherine. Next, we’ll pass through Trouville and end up in cosmopolitan Deauville. The retro atmosphere, the impressive mansions, and the famous casino are just a few of the reasons why the city is a magnet for the international jet set. Return to Paris in the evening.
Optional excursion to the famous Palace of Versailles. We will tour the vast landscaped gardens, and if you wish, you can enter the palace to see the Hall of Mirrors. We continue to the French countryside and the picturesque Giverny, the village painted by Claude Monet. The main attractions are Monet’s house and his famous gardens. Return to our hotel in the afternoon.
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy some free time for a final stroll. You will then be transferred to the airport for your direct return flight with Aegean Airlines.
