We’ll meet at “Macedonia” Airport at 5:00 a.m. and depart on a direct Aegean Airlines flight. We’ll arrive at Malpensa Airport and board the bus to begin our tour of Milan. We start at the Sforza Castle, an imposing medieval structure that houses important museums. Next, we head to the historic center, where the majestic Duomo Cathedral stands out, one of the most impressive Gothic monuments in the world. Next to the cathedral, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II welcomes us with its elegance.
The tour continues to the famous La Scala Opera House (Teatro alla Scala). Milan is also a true paradise for fashion lovers! On the bustling Corso Vittorio Emanuele, you’ll find a wide variety of shops. For a unique experience, we recommend enjoying the panoramic view of the city from the Roof Garden of the Rinascente department store. After the tour, transfer and check-in at the hotel. In the evening, we suggest a night out in the famous Navigli canal district, one of the city’s liveliest destinations.
After breakfast at the hotel, we set off for the enchanting Lake Orta. Our stop is the picturesque village of Orta San Giulio, a true gem built on the shores of the lake. We’ll stroll through the narrow cobblestone streets and end up at Piazza Motta, the central square with its magnificent view. Next, we head toward the enchanting Lake Maggiore.
Our next stop is cosmopolitan Stresa, a sophisticated and renowned resort on the shores of the lake. For those interested, an optional cruise to the nearby Borromeo Islands is available. Isola dei Pescatori (Fishermen’s Island) charms with its narrow alleys, while Isola Bella is home to the famous Baroque palace of the Borromeo family with its magnificent terraced gardens. Late in the afternoon, return to Milan.
Breakfast at the hotel, followed by free time or an optional excursion starting from the enchanting lakeside town of Sirmione. Sirmione is a beautiful peninsula on Lake Garda, where we will see the Scaliger Castle (12th century), Maria Callas’s villa, and the archaeological site featuring Catullus’s villa.
We will then depart for the city of lovers, Verona. In the Centro Storico (historic center), we will see the Verona Arena, the massive Roman amphitheater, the grand piazzas, and Juliet’s House. Next to the Adige River lies the Ponte di Pietra, the city’s oldest bridge. Late in the afternoon, we return to our hotel in Milan.
After breakfast, we depart for Como and the beautiful city of Lugano in Switzerland. Como is surrounded by lush green hills, offering a natural landscape of unparalleled beauty. We will visit the Volta Museum, Villa Olmo, and the Cathedral (Duomo) in Piazza del Duomo, as well as the Broletto (Old Town Hall).
We then depart for Switzerland and Lugano, which is situated on a bay on the northern shore of Lake Lugano. Lugano is the most important economic center of Italian-speaking Switzerland. We will enjoy the cosmopolitan atmosphere of its historic lakeside center with its buildings in the Italian Lombard style. We will then return to our hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll have some free time for our final strolls and shopping in Milan. We’ll then head to the airport for our return flight.
