We’ll wander through the narrow streets of the medieval city and visit the Cathedral, a unique edifice created by great artists and a blend of many architectural styles, where we will see paintings by El Greco of inestimable value, such as *The Expolio* and the *Apostles* collection. Next, at the Church of Santo Tomé, we will admire El Greco’s masterpiece “The Burial of the Count of Orgaz.” Next, we’ll visit a workshop specializing in “Damasquinado,” a renowned Toledan art form dating back to the Arab era. Return to Madrid. For the afternoon, we recommend a final shopping stroll through the city’s most elegant neighborhood, Barrio de Salamanca, a coffee at the atmospheric Plaza de Oriente with a view of the palace, or simply wander through the narrow streets of the old town, ending up at the impressive Plaza Mayor for a hot chocolate.

DAY 4MADRID – GRANADA

In the afternoon, we will visit* the impressive hill of the Alhambra (the red castle in Arabic). The pinnacle of the Sultanate of Granada in all its glory, a masterpiece of 14th-century Islamic architecture with unimaginable detail in its decoration, with its incredible fountains, and its invocations to Allah, paradise, and eternal love. Next to the Alhambra, we’ll find the Generalife, with trees, flowers, and water that will transport us to a world of contemplation, relaxation, and imagination from the era of the Sultans, the Harems, sensuality, and eunuchs… to the power of the Arabs. Check-in and dinner at the hotel. In the evening, you will have the opportunity to watch the Zambra Mora, the original Gypsy version of the dance that later laid the foundation for the birth of Flamenco. (Optional)

Also, take a stroll through the narrow streets of the historic center and enjoy the chance to sample some of the delicacies of Andalusian cuisine and shop on the Larios (Marqués de Larios), or visit one of the major museums, such as the Picasso Museum (Museo Picasso) or the Centre Pompidou (Centre Pompidou Málaga), better known as “el Cubo,” and take a stroll along Pier 1 (Muelle 1) of the Port of Málaga. Arrival in the afternoon in Seville, the capital of Andalusia. Check-in and dinner at the hotel.

DAY 6SEVILLE

After breakfast, our tour begins in the city of opera, where Carmen, Don Juan, and Figaro, the barber of Seville, “lived.” Starting from Maria Luisa Park and Plaza de América, we arrive at the impressive and fairy-tale-like Plaza de España, where we will see buildings representative of the city’s architectural styles. Next, we will wander through the former Jewish quarter with its narrow alleys and typical “patios.” Today it is called Santa Cruz and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will visit the Alcázar complex (a fortified palace in Arabic), where the Arab Palace stands out, featuring classic Mudejar architecture with its impressive state rooms, the small harem, and the sultans’ private quarters. In the same area, we will see the Giralda Cathedral with its minaret-bell tower, which is the “official” image of Seville. Here lies Columbus’s tomb, the gilded central chapel, and important paintings by the great Sevillian painter Murillo. But Seville is not (just) that. Narrow alleys, medieval buildings, beautiful squares, orange trees, centuries-old magnolias, and the Guadalquivir, where Lorca’s love was born… the city of love. Dinner at the hotel, and later… flamenco, in the city where it was born. (Optional)

DAY 7SEVILLE – CORDOBA – MADRID

After breakfast, we depart for Madrid. Passing through the Sierra Morena, we’ll arrive at the famed Corduba of the Romans, later Cordoba of the Arabs, and today’s Cordoba. In the former capital of the most important caliphate in the West, we will wander through the picturesque alleys of the Jewish quarter with its magnificent patios, which will lead us to the largest mosque in the West, the famous Mezquita. Over 800 columns (many of them from the Hellenistic period) support a work of art of unparalleled beauty from the 9th and 10th centuries. Here lived Averroes, Muhammad al-Ghafaki, and Ben Maimonides—eminent Arab scholars who translated nearly all ancient Greek writings into local languages. In the afternoon, arrival and check-in at the hotel in Madrid.

DAY 8MADRID – RETURN FLIGHT

Breakfast at the hotel and free time for a final stroll or to relax, enjoying the last moments of your trip. Then, transfer to Madrid Airport and departure for Thessaloniki, with beautiful memories and images to take home with you.
