Upon arrival, and without wasting any time, we’ll board the bus and set off for one of Europe’s most important natural treasures, the enchanting Plitvice Lakes National Park. Traveling through lush green countryside, we’ll arrive at a place that looks like something out of a fairy tale. The famous Plitvice Lakes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979, are a unique natural phenomenon and one of Europe’s most beautiful national parks. An impressive cluster of 16 turquoise lakes, connected by countless waterfalls and wooden walkways, set within an idyllic landscape of unparalleled beauty. During our visit, we’ll have the opportunity to walk among the crystal-clear waters, enjoy scenes of unique natural harmony, and marvel at the interplay of water and light within the dense forest. The sense of tranquility and the grandeur of the landscape create a truly unforgettable experience. After we finish our visit to this natural masterpiece, we’ll return to Zagreb. We check into our hotel and have some time to get a first glimpse of Croatia’s atmospheric capital. Overnight stay.

DAY 2ZAGREB – LJUBLJANA – LAKE BLED

After breakfast, we set off for enchanting Slovenia and its elegant capital, Ljubljana, one of the most beautiful and atmospheric cities in Central Europe. Built on the banks of the Ljubljanica River and dotted with bridges, cobblestone alleys, and Baroque facades, the city exudes a romantic aura that captivates every visitor from the very first moment. During our tour, we’ll explore the city’s most important sights. We’ll walk across the famous Dragon Bridge, a symbol and guardian of Ljubljana, linked to the legends of Greek mythology and the Argonauts. We’ll stroll through the colorful open-air market by the river, see the imposing Cathedral of St. Nicholas, the Renaissance City Hall, and the famous Three Bridges—Jože Plečnik’s architectural masterpiece and the city’s iconic landmark. Our walk continues to the elegant Prešeren Square, the heart of the city, where the atmosphere evokes a Central European fairy tale. Next, we’ll head to historic Congress Square, dominated by the University and the Philharmonic Academy—buildings of exceptional architectural and cultural significance. We’ll have some free time for coffee, shopping, or a leisurely stroll through the city’s picturesque streets before we set off for one of Europe’s most idyllic destinations: the enchanting Lake Bled. At the foot of the Julian Alps, set amid a landscape of unparalleled natural beauty, Lake Bled looks like something straight out of a postcard. Its turquoise waters, the lush green islet in the center, and the medieval castle perched on the cliff create a scene of unique charm. Optionally, we’ll board a traditional “pletna,” Slovenia’s characteristic gondola, to be taken to the lake’s famous island. The local boatmen, continuing a centuries-old tradition dating back to the time of Maria Theresa, will take us on a journey back in time. On the island, we’ll visit the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, and, according to legend, whoever rings its bell will have good luck and happiness forever. After enjoying the unique views and the tranquility of the landscape, we’ll return to Ljubljana for the night, giving us time to further enjoy the romantic atmosphere of this wonderful city.

DAY 3LJUBLJANA – POSTOJNA CAVES – TRIESTE

After breakfast, we set out for one of Europe’s most impressive natural wonders, the famous Postojna Caves. This is Slovenia’s largest and best-known cave system and one of the most significant in the world—a true wonder of nature formed millions of years ago. Our visit begins with the iconic underground train, which will take us deep into the cave, through impressive chambers and natural galleries. Next, walking along specially designed paths, we’ll discover a unique underground kingdom of majestic stalactites and stalagmites, natural limestone “curtains,” and formations with incredible colors and shapes that seem almost otherworldly. The atmosphere, the lighting, and the sense of the boundless underground world create a truly mesmerizing experience. Leaving behind the natural magic of Slovenia, we continue on to elegant Trieste, the cosmopolitan city in northern Italy that for centuries served as the most important port of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. A city with a distinct Central European atmosphere, where Italian refinement meets Austrian elegance. During our tour, we’ll explore the imposing Piazza Unità d’Italia, one of Europe’s largest seaside squares, as well as Piazza della Libertà with its impressive historic buildings. We’ll see the Roman Amphitheater, the Gothic City Hall, and the Greek Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas, an important symbol of the Greek presence in the city. Afterward, we’ll have free time to stroll through the elegant Borgo Teresiano, Trieste’s most aristocratic neighborhood, with its neoclassical mansions, canals, and famous Viennese cafés that evoke a bygone era. Here you can enjoy an authentic Italian espresso or a hot chocolate at one of the historic cafés that once hosted European writers and artists. Late in the afternoon, we return to Ljubljana. Overnight stay.

DAY 4LJUBLJANA – ISTRIA – PIRAN – KOPER

After breakfast, the day is yours to enjoy the romantic atmosphere of Ljubljana or, if you’d like, join us on a unique excursion to Slovenian Istria, where Slovenia reveals its most Mediterranean and Venetian side. Following a beautiful route, we arrive in Piran, one of the most picturesque towns on the Adriatic. Built on a small peninsula and surrounded by the sea, Piran strongly resembles Venice, with its narrow alleys, stone houses, and the unique atmosphere of the old town. The heart of the city is the famous Tartini Square, dedicated to the great composer and violinist Giuseppe Tartini, who was born here. We’ll stroll through the picturesque harbor, see City Hall, the Venetian palaces, and the historic buildings that bear witness to the long-standing rule of the Most Serene Republic of Venice in the region. The atmosphere is truly enchanting, with scenes reminiscent of a movie set. We then depart for Koper, Slovenia’s most important coastal city and the historic “Capo d’Istria.” The city is also historically linked to the name of Ioannis Kapodistrias, as it is considered the birthplace of his family. As we stroll through the old town, we’ll discover Gothic and Renaissance buildings, cobblestone squares, and impressive Venetian monuments. We’ll see the Praetorian Palace and the Municipal Loggia, two of the city’s most important landmarks, and we’ll have time to enjoy our coffee or aperitivo by the sea, in an atmosphere that perfectly blends Central Europe with the Mediterranean. In the afternoon, we’ll return to Ljubljana with our minds filled with images of a different, utterly charming side of Slovenia. Overnight stay.

DAY 5LJUBLJANA – ZAGREB – RETURN FLIGHT

After breakfast, we bid farewell to enchanting Slovenia and set off for the capital of Croatia, cosmopolitan Zagreb, a city with a distinct Central European character, an elegant atmosphere, and a rich history evident in every corner. Our tour of the city begins in the Lower Town, the most elegant and neoclassical part of Zagreb, where we’ll see impressive buildings from the Austro-Hungarian era. As we stroll along wide boulevards and through lush green squares, we’ll take photos of the imposing National Theater, the renowned Mimara Museum, and the impressive Art Pavilion—monuments that bear witness to the city’s cultural and economic flourishing during the 19th century. Next, we’ll head up to the Upper Town, the historic center of Zagreb, where the heart of the old Croatian capital beats. We’ll stroll through the central Ban Jelačić Square, a landmark for locals and visitors alike, and admire the impressive Cathedral of Our Lady with its distinctive twin towers, one of the country’s most important symbols. Our tour continues through the picturesque cobblestone alleys of the old town, where we’ll visit St. Mark’s Church with its famous multicolored roof bearing the historic emblems of Croatia, Dalmatia, and Slavonia. Next to it stand the Croatian Parliament and the Presidential Palace, creating an imposing scene steeped in history. We’ll have some free time to enjoy one last stroll through the pedestrian streets of the historic center, relax at one of the city’s atmospheric cafés, or do some last-minute shopping. The feel of old Austro-Hungary, Zagreb’s architectural elegance, and its lively atmosphere will provide the perfect finale to this special journey.
