Meet at Makedonia Airport and fly to Hungary. Upon arrival, we begin our panoramic tour: we will see Heroes’ Square, the famous Széchenyi Baths, Andrássy Avenue, the Opera House, and St. Stephen’s Basilica. Next, we head to Buda for Fisherman’s Bastion, the Royal Palace, and the imposing Matthias Church with its breathtaking view of the Danube. Free time on the shopping street Váci Utca and check-in at the hotel. In the evening, we recommend a magical night cruise on the Danube to see the illuminated Parliament Building.
After breakfast, we’ll explore the city’s authentic side. We’ll visit City Park (Városliget) with Vajdahunyad Castle and board the historic M1 metro line, built in 1896, the first of its kind in continental Europe. Next, we’ll visit the impressive Central Market Hall for traditional products and souvenirs. The afternoon is free for a stroll along the cosmopolitan Váci Utca pedestrian street.
Breakfast and departure for the Danube Villages. Our first stop is the artistic town of Szentendre, with its picturesque cobblestone streets. We continue to Visegrád with its historic citadel and panoramic view of the bend in the Danube. Finally, Esztergom, Hungary’s first capital, where we will admire the massive Cathedral. Return to Budapest and free time (we recommend a visit inside the Parliament building).
Breakfast and a final stroll through the city for some shopping or a coffee at the historic pastry shops. Transfer to the airport for the return flight, filled with wonderful memories of the "Pearl of the Danube."
