Meet at “Macedonia” Airport at 6:40 a.m., board the Aegean Airlines flight, and depart for Brussels. We arrive in Belgium’s famous capital and immediately begin our tour with the iconic Atomium, the city’s symbol. We will continue to the Royal Palaces of Laeken, the Japanese Tower, and the Chinese Pagoda. We’ll visit Grand Sablon Square, home to the Gothic Church of Our Lady, as well as the impressive Courthouse. Our tour continues to the European Quarter, where the European Parliament and the Council are headquartered. We will pass by the Arc de Triomphe before arriving at the Grand Place, the city’s central square. After checking in at the hotel, you will have the opportunity to take a stroll through the Grand Place, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Luxembourg. We will travel through southern Belgium and the lush green plains of Wallonia. Our first stop will be in Dinant, the birthplace of Adolphe Sax, inventor of the saxophone. We’ll have free time on the riverbanks or to admire the iconic Dinant Fortress. We’ll continue on to Luxembourg City, the city built in a striking gorge. During our tour, we’ll see the Cathedral of Our Lady, the famous Red Bridge, and the Philharmonic Hall. We’ll walk through Place d’Armes, the heart of the city. In the afternoon, we’ll return to Brussels.
We leave the Belgian capital behind and head to Ghent. We will tour the historic center, with stops at City Hall and St. Nicholas Church, as well as the imposing St. Bavo Cathedral, where the Van Eyck brothers’ work, The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb, is housed. Then, we depart for Bruges. Our tour begins at the Park of the Lake of Love. We will visit St. John’s Hospital and the Church of Our Lady with Michelangelo’s Madonna. The St. Boniface Bridge and the City Hall will enchant us, while the day will culminate with a stroll through the picturesque canals of the “Venice of the North.” Check-in at our hotel in Bruges.
We depart from Bruges and head to cosmopolitan Antwerp. We’ll visit the cathedral and city hall in the heart of the medieval quarter, as well as the Boerentoren, Europe’s oldest skyscraper. We continue to the avant-garde city of Rotterdam, with views of the impressive harbor, the iconic cube houses, and the Erasmus Bridge. Next stop is elegant The Hague, the administrative capital, home to the Dutch Parliament. Late afternoon arrival in Amsterdam. Check-in at the hotel and free time to explore the city.
The entire day is dedicated to Amsterdam. We will visit the Rijksmuseum, the Western Church, the Royal Palace on Dam Square, and Central Station. We will walk through Waterlooplein and the flower market. Next, we’ll visit the famous Coster Diamonds to see how diamonds are cut. We recommend enjoying a canal cruise, admiring the Skinny Bridge and the Amstel Hotel—an experience that will take you on a journey from the 17th century to the present day.
Free day in Amsterdam (we recommend the Albert Cuyp Market) or an optional excursion to the Dutch countryside. First stop: Zaanse Schans, an open-air museum featuring windmills and cheese-making workshops. We continue to the Afsluitdijk, the impressive 32-kilometer-long dam. The excursion concludes in Giethoorn, the “Venice of the North,” a car-free village where the tour takes place by boat on the tranquil canals beneath wooden bridges. Return to the hotel.
Departure for historic Utrecht. A tour of the city center, featuring its distinctive canals and the imposing Dom Tower. We continue to Nijmegen, one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands on the banks of the Waal River, with a history dating back to Roman times. Our final destination is Düsseldorf Airport for the return flight, filled with new friendships and unforgettable experiences.
