We’ll meet early in the morning at “Macedonia” Airport and take a direct flight with Aegean Airlines to Munich. After arrival, collecting our luggage, and meeting our tour guide, we’ll board the bus and immediately begin our tour of the Bavarian capital. During our panoramic tour, we’ll discover the city’s modern side and pass by major boulevards, university districts, museums, and impressive public buildings. We’ll see the Königsplatz area, with its neoclassical museums and imposing buildings, as well as the famous Ludwigstrasse, one of Munich’s most important boulevards. We’ll pass by the Victory Gate, Odeonsplatz, and the impressive Theatine Church, with its distinctive yellow facade. We’ll see the exterior of the Residenz, the former royal palace of the Bavarian rulers, one of the largest palace complexes in Germany. We’ll then head to the heart of the old town and the famous Marienplatz. Here stands the imposing New Town Hall, a masterpiece of Neo-Gothic architecture, featuring the famous Glockenspiel and its moving figures depicting historical scenes from the city’s life. We’ll also see the Old Town Hall and the column of the Virgin Mary, from which the square takes its name. We’ll continue on to St. Peter’s Church, Munich’s oldest church, and we’ll visit the impressive Frauenkirche, the city’s cathedral with its distinctive twin towers. Walking through the shopping streets of the historic center, we’ll reach Maximilianstrasse, one of the city’s most elegant and expensive boulevards, lined with international fashion houses, private galleries, cafés, and imposing buildings. We’ll see the State Opera House and pass by the famous Hofbräuhaus, one of Munich’s most historic beer halls, where Bavarian tradition, music, and the large wooden halls create a unique atmosphere. After our tour, you’ll have free time in the historic center to eat, shop, or get your first taste of traditional Bavarian cuisine. Try grilled sausages, pretzels, schnitzel, and local beer at one of the city’s historic beer halls. Later, we’ll head to our hotel and check into our rooms. For the evening, we recommend a lovely stroll through the illuminated historic center and dinner at a traditional Bavarian restaurant.
After breakfast, we’ll depart for Nuremberg, one of Germany’s most important and beautiful historic cities. Upon arrival, we’ll begin our tour of the Old Town, which is surrounded by impressive medieval walls, fortified towers, and gates. The Pegnitz River flows through the historic center, while the picturesque bridges, traditional houses, and cobblestone streets create one of Bavaria’s most photogenic scenes. We’ll head up to the Imperial Castle, which towers over the city and was one of the most important residences of the Holy Roman Emperors. From the castle area, we’ll enjoy a panoramic view of the red rooftops and towers of the old town. As we head downhill, we’ll stroll through the historic alleyways and see Albrecht Dürer’s house. We’ll continue to the central square, Hauptmarkt, where the famous Schöner Brunnen, the “Beautiful Fountain,” stands with its colorful Gothic figures. We’ll see the Frauenkirche, St. Sewald’s Church, City Hall, and the distinctive bridges over the Pegnitz River. There will be free time for lunch, shopping, and sampling the famous Nuremberg sausages. We’ll then head to Regensburg, one of Germany’s best-preserved medieval cities and a historic commercial hub on the banks of the Danube. We’ll take a walk through the historic center, which features more than a thousand listed buildings and impressive medieval towers. We’ll see the famous Stone Bridge, one of the most significant engineering feats of the Middle Ages, which for centuries connected the two banks of the Danube. We’ll visit the area around the imposing St. Peter’s Cathedral, with its striking Gothic towers, and walk toward Old City Hall Square. In the picturesque alleys, we’ll come across colorful facades, small squares, traditional shops, and historic buildings that bear witness to the city’s wealth during the Middle Ages. After some free time for coffee and a stroll along the banks of the Danube, we’ll depart for our return to Munich. We’ll arrive in the evening and have some free time.
Today is a free day for you to explore Munich at your leisure. At the same time, we’ve organized an impressive optional full-day excursion to the Bavarian Alps and the Austrian Tyrol. Early in the morning, we’ll head south, following a beautiful route past lakes, forests, lush green valleys, and the majestic peaks of the Alps. Our first stop is the cosmopolitan Garmisch-Partenkirchen, one of Germany’s best-known mountain resorts and a major center for winter sports. The town lies at the foot of the Zugspitze, the country’s highest peak, and was formed by the merger of the historic settlements of Garmisch and Partenkirchen. We’ll stroll through the traditional streets, among characteristic Bavarian houses with wooden balconies and painted facades. We’ll have time for coffee and photos, enjoying the view of the Alps surrounding the town. We’ll continue on to the fairy-tale village of Oberammergau, one of Bavaria’s most picturesque villages. The village is known for its painted house facades, traditional woodcarvings, and the famous reenactment of the Passion of Christ, which takes place at regular intervals. As you stroll through its narrow streets, you’ll see houses decorated with religious scenes, scenes from rural life, and images from well-known fairy tales and German legends. Every corner of Oberammergau offers a unique photographic scene. We will then cross the border into Austria and, via a spectacular mountain route, arrive in Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol. The city is built in the Inn River valley and surrounded by majestic Alpine peaks, creating one of the most beautiful urban landscapes in Europe. During our tour, we’ll see the Triumphal Arch, Maria-Theresien-Strasse—the city’s main boulevard— the imperial Hofburg Palace, and the Hofkirche, home to the imposing monument to Emperor Maximilian I. We’ll end up in the Old Town and at the famous Golden Roof, Innsbruck’s most recognizable symbol, with its thousands of gilded copper tiles. The colorful medieval buildings, the Baroque facades, and the Alpine peaks rising behind the city create a truly unique scene. There will be free time for a stroll, a meal, shopping, or a visit to one of the historic cafés. Late in the afternoon, we’ll depart for Munich, once again passing through the beautiful mountainous regions of Tyrol and Bavaria. Those who choose to stay in Munich can visit the impressive BMW Museum and BMW Welt, the Olympic Park, the German Museum of Technology, the Pinakothek, the Residenz, or the famous Nymphenburg Palace. Alternatively, you can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the English Garden, visit the Viktualienmarkt, or spend some time shopping in the city center.
After breakfast and checking out of our rooms, we will depart for Salzburg, one of Austria’s most beautiful and atmospheric cities. The city is built on the banks of the Salzach River, near the foothills of the Alps, and is known throughout the world as the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Its name means “Salt Castle” and is linked to the important role that the salt trade played in the region’s development and wealth. Upon our arrival, we’ll start with the beautiful gardens of Mirabell Palace. The symmetrical gardens, statues, fountains, and the view of Hohensalzburg Fortress create one of the city’s most iconic sights. We’ll pass through Makartplatz, where the house where Mozart’s family lived is located, and see the Baroque Church of the Holy Trinity. Crossing the Salzach River, we’ll enter the exceptionally well-preserved historic center. We’ll walk along the famous Getreidegasse, Salzburg’s most well-known street, with its distinctive iron shop signs, small inner courtyards, and elegant facades. Here stands the house where Mozart was born, with its distinctive yellow facade. We’ll continue on to Mozartplatz, Residenzplatz, and the impressive Salzburg Cathedral. We’ll see the historic St. Peter’s Abbey, the bishop’s residences, and the elegant buildings that make up the city’s monumental center. In your free time, you can visit Mozart’s house, enjoy local pastries and the city’s famous coffee, or take the cable car up to Hohensalzburg Fortress. It is one of the largest and best-preserved castles in Europe, offering a breathtaking view of the old town, the river, and the surrounding Alpine peaks. Early in the afternoon, we’ll depart for Munich Airport. After going through security and checking our luggage, we’ll board our evening return flight, filled with unique experiences and memories of Bavaria, the Austrian Tyrol, and the enchanting city of Salzburg.
