Field Trip Itinerary

DAY 1DEPARTURE FLIGHT - DUBLIN - CITY TOUR

Meet at Macedonia Airport at 4:00 a.m. and fly to Dublin via Athens. Arrival at 10:00 a.m. local time, and we begin the tour: we’ll see Parnell Square, the “Spear of Dublin,” St. Patrick’s and Christ Church Cathedrals, and the famous Trinity College. In the afternoon, a stroll through Temple Bar, the liveliest neighborhood with its picturesque cobblestone streets and traditional pubs.

DAY 2DUBLIN – MOHER CLIFFS – BEREEN – DUBLIN

Departure for the majestic Cliffs of Moher, which rise 214 meters above the Atlantic. Visit to the Visitor Center and a stroll through the seaside village of Doolin. Next, we’ll cross the “stone kingdom” of the Burren, a lunar-like limestone landscape, before returning to Dublin.

DAY 3DUBLIN - BELFAST - GLASGOW

After breakfast, we depart for Belfast. We will visit City Hall, the Opera House, and the harbor where the Titanic was built. We board the ferry to Cairnryan and travel by road to Glasgow, Scotland’s historic shipbuilding center. Check-in at the hotel.

DAY 4GLASGOW - LOMOND LOCH - FORT AUGUSTUS - LOCH NES - INVERNESS

Guided tour of Glasgow and departure for the Highlands. Stop at Loch Lomond and the village of Las. We cross the Glencoe Valley and arrive at Fort Augustus. We follow the Caledonian Canal toward Loch Ness. In the afternoon, we arrive in Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, for a stroll along the banks of the River Ness.

DAY 5INVERNESS - PITLOCHRY - SAINT ANDREAS - EDINBURGH

Visit to the Victorian village of Pitlochry and an optional tour of a whiskey distillery. We continue to St. Andrews, the “home of golf,” with its ruined 12th-century cathedral. Arrival in Edinburgh in the evening.

DAY 6EDINBURGH - CITY TOUR

Guided tour of the “Athens of the North.” We will see the Georgian New Town, Calton Hill, Holyrood Palace, and the historic Royal Mile. The tour culminates at Edinburgh Castle, the imposing fortress that towers over the city.

DAY 7EDINBURGH - (EXCURSION TO STERLING CASTLE)

A free day to visit museums or take a tour of the Royal Yacht Britannia. Alternatively, an optional excursion to Stirling Castle, one of Scotland’s most important fortresses, where historic battles for independence were fought by William Wallace (Braveheart).

DAY 8EDINBURGH - RETURN FLIGHT

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for the return flight to Thessaloniki via Athens.
